At which points in time rounding is applied?

Hello.

My question is about the correct rounding method for bets.

In short:
If an unmatched lay bet x@y leads to a payout of value z=####.##50 EUR.

Lets say z_ = ####.## EUR and z^ = ####.## + 0.01 EUR.

Will the commission on the payout be calculated on the difference of z^-x, z_-x or z-x.

And depending on this the required stake of the layer will be different,won't be?

Independend of the answer about z^, z_ or z , what to do if the required stake of the layer is ####.##2 EUR ?

Will betfair allways ceiling the layer's stake or will this be handled in ordinary rounding procedure, meaning ####.##5 Eur and above is uprounded
and below uprounded.

Please tell me your opinions.

In long terms:
Lets say we have an unmatched Lay Bet a@b in the order book.

Payout of this would be a*b = brutto of backer = brutto of layer.
CF=Comission factor = 5%=0.05 <--> NF=netto factor=95%=0.95

Tools to check for course of bets??

Is there any tools or progarms that we can see the course of matched bets like the shares trading? (Each transation by volume and price). In share trading we can see the history of each transation in the trading platform, I'm wondering any tools that can see this?

Scraping Prices & Volume Available into Excel

Alright folks,

Don't know if this post is it the right place and apologies if it isn't.

I am trying to do some low level price and volume analysis in excel. I am currently using a betfair lite web query and a macro to analyse said data in excel. Problem is, after 15 minutes or so, the query fails as I have been logged out of betfair lite?

Anybody know a way around this or how to log in automatically?

Historical Data Question

I am having some troubles understanding when a historical data license is needed and not. Is this data not already available from Betfair?

Is it pretty much as long as there isn't an obvious way to export prices directly from the software it is ok? I am concerned that if I allow people to use the excel programming function of my software then they will be able to record prices in an excel sheet? However, I am aware of a similar function in more mainstream Betfair software (though after being a member have not been inposed with the stated end-user fees).

If anyone could help clarify this matter for me, if only slightly, it would be very much appreciated. It is just to in my opinion, unless I am directly selling the data (in a format like Fracsoft) this license seems slightly unfair. I also have no way of monitoring which users get data (should they know how and choose to) from which markets and whether they are in-play or not.

Regarding discount field for commission calculation

To my knowledge, i guess we need user specific discount rate to calculate commission apart from Market Base Rate (commission rate on market). Is there a service with which we can fetch this field or any workaround to accomplish commission calculation? Thanks in advance.

Gambling Commission Question?

I have a piece of software which I am looking to get into the Software Vendor's Program. The software shows data in Read Only (i,e no execution). So the user cannot actually gamble in anyway. Does the software still need to show the available balance? I hope this makes sense. Thanks for all those that can help.

I have 2 questions:

Question 1:
How to interpretate these two citations from
What is the algorithm for displaying prices inline with the website?

a) [...]The virtual bets are just the bets that would have been matched had we received a sufficiently large back bet at 1.01;[...]

b)[...]Again, the virtual bets are just the bets that would have been matched had we received a sufficiently large lay bet at 1000;[...]

Regarding this citations it would be only possible to get matched against the virtual bets, if I use odds 1.01 in case of back betting or odds 1000 in case of lay betting. But the majority haven't enough money to lay the minimum size of 2@1000.

So I think the explanation in the above article is wrong, isn't it?

I would expect that each bet will be matched against the best available odds, real or virtual.

Question 2:

Does the bookvalue shown on the website include the virtual bet odds in case they are better than the real existing odds?
Do the virtual bets go into calculation of the bookvalue if they represent the best odds for the individual selections?
